Eavesdropping

Is what we are saying worth eavesdropping to?

Had a reminder of this the other day as we stopped to have an afternoon coffee break. We, together with some other believers, were at a large rooftop cafe in the beautiful, old city of Freiburg. Overlooking the Black Forest and surrounded by delicious tortes and cappuccinos, we ministered and answered questions. One sister asked and received the Holy Spirit baptism. PTL! Excitedly, we moved to the inside area as it started to rain.

Choosing a table for all of us in the filled cafe, we soon realized we needed more room. The gentleman at the table next to us had been watching. He offered to move his table over for us and go elsewhere. We thanked him and extended the invitation for him to join us.

Over more coffees, his story unfolded. OPPORTUNITY! Right there in the crowded roof-top cafe, he accepted Jesus as his Saviour. He proceeded to pull a small German Gideon New Testament Bible out of his jacket. Some time ago, two women had given him this Bible. He’d been carrying it around, but didn’t know or understand what to do. Opening it, he was shown several scriptures that related to his new standing in Christ. PTL!

Eavesdropping, at the next table, were several women. They, likewise, were invited to join the conversation as we now started ordering our supper. More questions. More answers. More sharing the Good News.

Our original plan for a quick coffee before we continued on our walk through Freiburg ended up being an amazing three hours seeing God work.

Let’s always make our talk worth eavesdropping to!

Opportunities

Love the teaching we've received at Victory about looking for opportunities.

Many times we can pray that God would open doors for us to minister, but before we know it, it's bedtime. BUT,  when we actually look, we find that He really does bring those opportunities.

Yesterday we were ministering at a home where the people were being oppressed by demonic activity, when a relative walked in. She suffered terribly from arthritis. An opportunity! Andy shared his testimony of salvation and the following healing from arthritis. She interjected, "I want that, too!" An opportunity! Unplanned. Taken.

Still a couple of days to take more opportunites, then Sunday Andy's preaching at the Arche in Niebüll. Then it's off to the southern part of Germany for the last part of our trip.

Blessings to you all!

Perfect Day

What a perfect sunny summer day for water baptism. Looking forward to being able to minister to on-lookers at the same time!

Tomorrow, attending the Arche church in Niebüll that's having an open-air meeting in a park with water baptisms as well.

Spent the last couple of days with one-on-ones. Relationship building. Gospel sharing. Word teaching.

Just normal Kingdom living . . .

Baptism Time

We’re always amazed at how busy the days and evenings are. The time seems to fly!

Fitting into the culture of the people one ministers to is often an interesting thing. Here, many times it means, “We’d like to talk; come by for dinner.” And so it is. BBQ and talk. Eat and talk. Then, walk and talk. Then come results!

And so, we’re looking forward to the first water baptism of this trip. How blessed we were to hear, last night, that the spouse of the person who wants to be baptized also wants to be baptized! So it starts. Multiplication!

For many, infant baptism is the entrance into “Christianity”. One is baptized as an infant, confirmed, pays the state church taxes (taken right off the pay), and is therefore assured a Christian burial and entrance into heaven! It was no surprise when we were told by Germans, on our first trip, that we needed to go to Africa and minister, because everyone in Germany is a Christian!

However, when the reality of God is preached, and that a personal relationship through accepting Christ is required, and that that is the only way into an eternal life with Him, then questions start being asked. Thankfully when the Word is preached, God confirms His Word with signs and wonders. With so much sickness and oppression around us, it is inevitable that someone needs prayer for healing. Seeing the power of God at work is always an amazing thing. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness!

The Ethiopian eunuch said, “See, here is water, what hinders me to be baptized?” Philip answered, “If you believe with all your heart, you may, ” (Acts 8:36) Likewise, when the people here see that God is really real, that He loves them, and that they need to make a heartfelt decision to invite Christ into their lives, it is with joy that we hear a question similar to the one the eunuch asked. PTL!

Well, it’s Wednesday morning and soon it’s off to another lunch meeting! Looking forward to more good news from the Good News that will be shared.

Together Again!

For the past week, Andy (Wolfgang) and Gerhild were visiting their son and daughter-in-law in Exeter, England. A time of refreshing and reconnecting. On Sunday, worshiped at  a lively church on the River Exe  -- almost like being at home! Encountered God’s amazing “connections” that only He can bring about.

During that time, Detlef and Heidi were with their family (their children and grandchildren having come from Canada as well) celebrating their Sippenfest (family reunion of over 350 Möllgaards from around the world), in the northern part of Germany. On Sunday, Detlef and Heidi jointly preached the Word at the Arche Church in Niebüll. Topic? Kindgom Living! Their son, Peter, ministered in music. God always confirms His Word with signs following (Mark 16:20) and this Sunday was no exception!

When we finally met up together in Sterdebüll, where we’ve rented apartments for the next month, we had a chance to share with each other the amazing things God has done. Detlef and Heidi shared how the Lord started the work with the landlord’s salvation. From there on, things have just been advancing! We are expectant of many, many more salvations and miracles, all for the glory of God.

Our calendar’s filling up with “get-togethers” and visitations, taking every opportunity where God leads. We’ll keep you up-to-date with what’s taking place.

Continuing to walk in the Kingdom,
Blessings to you all!

Countdown!

The countdown is on. Just a few more days and it's off across the "pond". We are so thankful to our families and our church families for their encouraging and uplifting words, both today and in the days past. It truly is a blessing to be part of the Kingdom of God and His family!

We repeat what Paul wrote in Colossians 4:3, "Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about His mysterious plan concerning Christ."

We thank all who have been and are keeping us in prayer. We sense great urgency and excitement building as we prepare to minister and share "His mysterious plan concerning Christ."

Blessings to you all :-)

Summer 2012 Plans

I've been asked where we're going. Well, so far the plan includes Erlenbach (in the Frankfurt area), Niebüll, Bordelum and Bredstedt (and surrounding area in the north), and Freiburg (in the southwest, close to the French border.)

Will we be going other places as well? Yes, most definitely! We're still in the planning stages and know that God is leading us to places we haven't been to yet. Looking forward to His direction -- it's always exciting to see the doors He opens!

Will keep you informed as we get closer and closer to take off!
